1.  New Kick Now        (Robin Greenstein)

Maybe I'll go to Central Park and sit down on a bench
Hop a flight to Paris and brush up on my French
I'm gonna get away from you, you've done me too much harm
Silly little fool I was, sidetracked by your charms,

Chorus
I'm on a new kick now, I'm on a new kick now
I'm on a new kick now,  If I can just kick you
out of my head, out of my heart, out of my life

I'm going to the museum to summon up my muse
I'm gonna buy the New York Times and read the latest news
You're stepping out at midnight,  hangin' out with someone new
You think I didn't notice, well hereís some news for you

Chorus

Bridge
You and me are history
I'm gonna start a new chapter without you,
You're already in the past
No more being used,
No more tears, just laughter
Now if I can only figure out
how to make your disappearance really last

Chorus

2.  Acousticness

People ask me every day
What kind of music do you play?
is it rock, is it folk,  is it pop, is it soul?
Give us something we can pigeonhole
Well, if I had to describe it, itíd get kind of long
so I think Iíll put it down in a little bitty song
I grew up with the sounds on the radio
Soon everybody got their own stereo
Joan Baez and show tunes too
Doo wop groups and the Motown revue
I got a guitar and I started to strum
and the sound of the strings was like a beautiful hum
I thumped out a rhythm and wrote some words
and a style was born from all the sounds Iíd heard
I played it once, I played it twice
I changed a chord and said ìwell isnít this niceî
ìwhat am I gonna call this musical mess?î
Iíll call it Acousticness.

Now acousticness is hard to define
Itís an attitude, itís a state of mind
now I love to dance to that rock and roll
but a Martin guitar speaks to my soul
if you wanna know what inspires me
hereís my musical recipe:
you take a little bit of rhythm, a little bit of blues
An old timey melody and put it in the stew
A celtic drone and a little bit of soul
some rockabilly twang and you put it in a bowl

You take these sounds from the metal and wood
you put it in a pot and stir ëem up good
It all came together and it started to mesh
I said ìthis is the music I must expressî, well
I played it once, I played it twice
I changed a chord & said well "isnít this nice,"
ìWell, I got me a real fine musical mess,  Iím gonna call it acousticnessî
I call it acousticness

Well the Motown girls had me tapping my feet
and the west coast harmonies, they sound so sweet
Dylan had the politics and Gershwin had the style
And the Beatles knew how to say it with a smile  (Love Love Love)

Smokey cried to the tears of a clown
while everybody boogied to the funk of James Brown
Harmonizing like a shape note hymn
While Joni Mitchell wailed her thoughts from within
Well I grooved with Stevie and rocked  with Van
but everybody knew Robert Johnson was the man
Mississippi John and a man named Lead
Their music lives on even though theyíre dead
Blacks and whites, Brits and Yanks,
and to the Chairman of the Board, well, we owe a lot of thanks
To all my musical heroes whose made my day
If I left you out, I love you anyway,
you all contributed to the musical mess
that I call ìacousticnessî
I call it acousticness

3.  I'll Be There (Anytime at all)

Ooh the wonder  the wonder the wonder
when I first laid eyes on you
I said my god could this really be happening
Can this really be true

Ooh the wonder the wonder the wonder
When you first came out of me
I said my god what is this miracle I see

Chorus  I'll be there when you call me,
I'll be there when you fall,
I'll be there when you call me,
So honey just call me anytime at all,
I'll be there, anytime at all

And I remember your first step
Oh what a joy to see
and then you started crying
Cause you fell down & scraped your knee

I brought you into this world
I probably wonít see you out
But while Iím here Iíll take care of you
Honey have no doubt

Chorus

Ooh my sweet little darling
My honey baby turtle dove
You know whenever you look up and smile at me
Well my heart fills up with love

Chorus

One day I'm gonna turn around
And honey you'll be all grown
You'll be sitting me down to tell me
that you'll be leaving home

And I'm gonna have to let you go
Every birdie's gotta leave the nest
When the weight of the world gets too heavy for you darling
You know where to come and rest

Chorus

I'll be there, anytime at all
Ooh, the wonder the wonder the wonder
I'll be there, anytime at all

  4.  Tomorrowís A Brand New Day

The coleus died when it turned very cold
Once a flowering plant, now itís withered and old
But such is life, I try not to dwell very long
On the days that are gone

So heartbreakís got you down in the dumps again
Youíre banging your head on the wall, and feeling the lumps again
well look at yourself, you bury your head in the ground
while the tears all fall down
but thereís nowhere you can run, keep your eyes towards the sun
Tomorrowís a brand new day

Tomorrowís a brand new day
The sun disappears each night
it melts into the sea
but then it rises next day
so bright, full of energy

My grandmother says that all happens for the best
Count only the joys and try to forget the rest
So when the day drags and you start to feel deep inside
that your spirit has died
thereís nowhere you can run, keep your eyes towards the sun
Tomorrowís a brand new day

Tomorrowís a brand new day
The sun disappears each night
it melts into the sea
but then it rises next day
so bright, so full of energy

So when the day drags and you start to feel deep inside
that your spirit has died
thereís nowhere you can run, keep your eyes towards the sun
Tomorrowís a brand new day
Tomorrowís a brand new day
Tomorrowís a brand new day

5.  Did Ya Know?  (Robin Greenstein)

Did ya know, I turned off the car radio
So I could think about us dancing real slow
In the street with music playing all around
It felt so good, you lifted me right off the ground
Did ya know, I turned off the car radio

Did ya know, I think I fell in love with you
If you'd said "follow me" I'd say "where to"?
If you asked me to get down on my knees
Did ya know, you wouldn't even have to say please
Did ya know, oh did ya know, I think you know

You and I would never have come together any other way
Too bad, now we found a good thing, neither one of us can stay

Did ya know, the nights we shared are still in my mind
Did ya know, they'll be there for a very long time
Did ya know, the way you touched me drove me insane
Did ya know, I'd go back & do it all again
Did ya know, oh I know you feel the same

So many words left unsaid,
if you could just read the thoughts in my head, then you'd know

Did ya know, there's something that I'm dying to say
Honey I know you're lying to me, it's okay
Even though it was only for the time we had
You made me feel so very happy and so glad
Did ya know, Honey did ya know that I know?

Oh, on the outside you're hard, on the outside you're tough
Ah but  the sweetness inside, I just can't get enough

Did ya know, I couldn't bear to say goodbye
Cause I knew, it would be for the very last time
Like a star, you came and blazed across my path
Like a star, honey it burns way too fast
Did ya know, I know you felt the same, I know you know

Did you know (I think you know)
Did you know (I think you know)
Did you know (I think you know)

   6.   Cry For the Lonely      (Robin Greenstein)

People tell me I don't mention you too much
they don't know inside I'm hurting so much
It pains me just to say your name
but after a good love has gone bad
how can I feel anything but sad
and honey you still affect me just the same

Chorus:
There's a howling wind outside tonight and it cries for the lonely
I never thought I'd be singing this song, I thought you'd love me only
but we all play the fool sometimes, I guess it was my turn
so tonight, I'm gonna cry for the lonely

Sometimes I think if I could only talk to you
I'd convince you what you're trying to do
Is something you don't really want
But if I had to talk you into loving me
We both know what a mistake that would be
And you know that's not what I want

Chorus

and I don't mind feeling blue, if you felt the same way too

It's way past midnight and I can't get to sleep
I think about you and I start to weep
If you knew what you've done to me
Oh, I'm swimming in a sea of misery
and I know that one day I'll get free
and you'll be nothing more than a memory

Chorus

7.  You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go

8.     LET GO

Well I got fired from my gig in the restaurant
They said "your kind of music isn't what we want"
"We hired your sub he had more energy"
"What's wrong," I said "how come you don't want me?"
First I was angry, then I was mad
Why don't they want me
Oh but you can't be loved by everyone so don't be sad
It's just a case of C'est la vie, so

Learn to let go, I'm gonna sing my blues away
Learn to let go, Music helps me get through my day
We're all swimming down the river
The current can go fast or slow
If you want a nice smooth flow, learn to let go

Well it used to be I was so ashamed,
Hey I didn't like my looks and I hated my name
I never went out without my face made up
Whatever I wore it wasn't good enough
My mama told me "child, we all shine from within"
"Honey don't you worry so"
"Don't worry about the rouge on your skin"
"You'll radiate a beautiful glow if you learn to let go"

Let  go, Hey, that's what the Buddhists do
They learn to let go,  so find that center inside of you
We're all swimming down the river
The current can go fast or slow
If you want a nice smooth flow, learn to let go

Well now, I had me this gig down in Birmingham
I'd fly in, fly out next day, it would be smooth as jam
Instead I ended up a part of history
you see, that was the blizzard of ë93
There I was stranded, I was alone
with just one pair of underwear
With no heat, no power, no telephone
Four days later I finally got out of there
[And there I was stuck for 4 days on a college campus
With no heat, no power, no telephone,
one pair of underwear
How did I make it through, how did I persevere?]

I just learned to let go, let go,
Hey thereís nothing you can do about it,
Learn to let go, Mother Nature has the last word
 & don't you doubt it
We're all weathering the storms of life
Sometimes the wind can really blow
Better learn to lay real low, and learn to let go

Let Go, I'm gonna sing my blues away
Iím gonna learn to let go,
Let Go, Let Go, Let Go, Let Go

9.  West Coast Swing      (Robin Greenstein)

Babe, I can't resist you when you do that thing
Babe, I can't resist you when you do your thing
So come on take my hand, let's do the West Coast Swing

When I watch you dancing, you know it drives me wild
When I watch you dancing, you know it drives me wild
Well you syncopate your steps
in the West Coast style

I like the way you spin me but stay out of my slot
Sugar push me baby, give me all that you've got
when you basket whip me, I like it a lot
Do you know how to tie the West Coast knot?

You know Iím waiting for you to give that ring
Babe, I'm tired of waiting for you to give me that ring
We'll go walking down the aisle, doing the West Coast Swing

I like the way you turn me but stay out of my slot
Sugar push me baby, give me all that you've got
when you hold me close,  you know I like it a lot
Come on babe, let's tie the West Coast knot

We're perfect for each other, Iím waiting for that ring
When you pop the question, Iím gonna shout and sing,
We'll go strutting down the aisle, doing the West Coast Swing
So come on take my hand, letís do the West Coast Swing
Swing it, swing it, swing it baby

10.  THE BOYS FROM FARGO

Oh, the boys from Fargo
Oh, the boys from Fargo
They try to woo a city girl like me
Out into the country
Oh, what they want with a girl like me

Oh, the boys from Fargo
Oh,  they make my blood flow
One plays piano, the other one sings the blues
The third one wears white cowboy boots for walking shoes
Oh, what they want with a girl like me

Oh, whoaÖ.

Well I come from New York, they think Iím neat
My words are tough but my smile is sweet
Iím just the kind of girl theyíd like to meet
And take back to the farm

Whoa, Whoa

Oh, Iíve never been to Fargo
But Iíd really like to go
North Dakota may be snowy and cold
But those Fargo boys sure warm my soul
Oh, I love those boys from Fargo
Oh, I love those boys from Fargo
Oh, I love those boys from Fargo

11.   Can't Lose With You

Baby tell me true, what do you see in me
Am I more than I thought I could be?
You lift me out of time, take me to another place
Touch me and I'm special, filled with loving grace

Chorus
I can't lose with you, believing in me like you do
I can't lose with you. keep me close and I'll come through
I can't lose with you

Baby could it be, you and me, here at last
I found a way to let go of the past
Once I used to feel that the sun would never shine
You came along and showed me, the clouds were in my mind

Chorus

Baby don't let go, now I know what I need
You make me more than I thought I could be
Love has made me strong, gonna prove it every day
You will not regret it, loving me this way

12.  Sacred Song

If you were too far to touch, Iíd call out to reach you
The sound would travel the air until it came to you
Then like a floating tune, Iíd linger...

    Chorus:
Lovers they come and they go
    They leave scented memories
    But a good friend, ah
    Thatís a precious melody
and you are a sacred song to me

If you were to leave me, I would fever and weaken fast
sadness would cause me to sink, I know I would never last
My only refuge, a sad ballad...

    Chorus

If you were to vanish, Iíd die from the sorrow
darkness would blacken the day, thereíd be no tomorrow
No time,  no place, no movement...

Lovers they come and they go
    I have scented memories
    But a good friend, ah
    Thatís a precious melody
and you are a sacred song to me

a precious melody that lingers....
